Compensation: $100,000-$125,000 including performance bonuses

FLSA: Exempt Position

Summary: An Advertising Director develops, implements, and manages the company's advertising strategy, from a financial, sales, and technical perspective. The position develops sales budgets and projections for advertising, and also provides supervision and development for our team of advertising professionals. The Advertising Director is responsible for multiple lines of revenue (display, digital, magazines and events), negotiating client contracts, tracking performance to goal, and motivating sellers to achieve company and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Develops and implements strategic sales plan and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. Directs sales forecasting activities, anticipates trends and changing market conditions and sets performance goals accordingly. Directs the efforts of inside sales professionals, business development managers, and advertising assistants to achieve/exceed sales goals. May assist with client-specific needs in other departments such as advertising production. Creates and maintains reports to track all key metrics of advertising business measures (i.e., lines, revenue, ad count, active accounts, monthly bonus reports, classifications performances). Facilitates sales meetings and provides regular training for all advertising personnel to ensure their success and career development. Counsels all advertising employees on goals, job expectations, challenges, solutions, billing questions, and customer complaints. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships, and negotiating/closing deals. Works closely with the publishers for both The Aspen Times and Glenwood Springs Post Independent. Attends company meetings and effectively communicates with all levels of the organization and shared services. Interviews and hires sales professionals.

Experience / Qualifications: At least five years experience in the field. Previous management experience. Familiarity with marketing and advertising concepts related to print, mobile, and digital. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Bachelors in marketing, business administration, communications or hospitality a plus. Willing to relocate to the area if not already in Pitkin or Garfield counties.
