The firm's Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice is nationally recognized for its involvement in some of the largest and most complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings, both domestically and internationally. ​

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have 3 -7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters, with a strong foundation in both transactional and litigation aspects. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a team that has represented virtually all key stakeholders in restructuring scenarios, including directors, secured and unsecured creditors, corporate trustees, and investors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, including debtors, creditors' committees, trustees, and other stakeholders.​
  • Draft and negotiate key documents such as DIP financing agreements, asset purchase agreements, and restructuring support agreements.​
  • Advise on corporate governance issues related to distressed situations, including the representation of directors and special committees.​
  • Participate in bankruptcy litigation matters, including plan and disclosure statement objections, claims allowance disputes, and preference and fraudulent transfer actions. ​
  • Collaborate with cross-practice teams, including corporate finance, litigation, M&A, capital markets and tax groups, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.​
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring law, preferably at a large law firm or in a similar high-caliber environment.​
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.​
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.​
