**Position Summary:**
Are you ready to be part of something extraordinary? EL Bar Tequila & Mezcal Bar, a subsidiary of City Winery, is launching at the vibrant Pier 57, and we're looking for dynamic Barbacks to join our team! If youre passionate about tequila and mezcal this is the perfect opportunity for you.
**Overview of Responsibilities:**
? Ensure the bar is fully stocked with glassware, garnishes, ice, and other necessary supplies before and during service.
? Assist bartenders by fetching ingredients, preparing garnishes, and maintaining a clean work area to ensure smooth service.
? Keep the bar area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, emptying trash, and washing glassware throughout the shift.
? Monitor stock levels of beverages and supplies, reporting shortages to the bartender or manager
? Set up bar equipment and ensure everything is functioning correctly at the beginning of each shift.
? Provide friendly and courteous service to guests, answering questions and assisting with their needs when the bartenders are busy.
? Carry and move heavy boxes of stock, kegs, and other supplies from storage areas to the bar.
? Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times, including proper handling of glassware and equipment.
? Assist in setting up and breaking down for events, ensuring the bar is ready for service before guests arrive.
**Your Strengths & Qualifications** **:**
? Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting
? Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and remain on your feet for extended periods.
? Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
? Meticulous in keeping the bar clean, stocked, and organized.
? Willingness to support the bartending team and contribute to a positive work environment.
? Capable of handling a variety of tasks quickly and efficiently, with a willingness to learn new skills.
? Clear and effective communicator, able to take direction and work well with others.
? Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
? Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a focus on providing excellent service to guests.
? Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and stand for extended periods during shifts.
