DPI Merchandising Inc. (DPIM) is a leading firm in the video game industry, specializing in exclusive Collector’s Editions, Custom Promotional Products, and Apparel. We manage all aspects of design, manufacturing, product testing, quality assurance, and global logistics, making us a one-stop service provider for video game consumer merchandise. As part of the Plaion Group under Embracer, DPIM operates on a global scale, working closely with top-tier video game companies.

Position Overview: DPIM is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Category Manager to oversee the development and manufacturing of our video game-related merchandise. The Category Manager will play a key role in driving production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and coordinating between design, production, and logistics teams. This position is pivotal in ensuring the successful creation and timely delivery of merchandise that aligns with our high standards and brand partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the entire production process, from product development to delivery, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with sourced factories to ensure effective and timely collaboration in production processes.
• Coordinate internal and external communication across departments, including design, marketing, logistics, and vendors, ensuring transparency and alignment in project goals.
• Monitor the progress of product development through product tracking systems, ensuring all stages of production meet established deadlines and quality expectations.
• Review and approve pre-production samples, providing vendors with detailed feedback and quality control documentation.
• Set up products on the company’s e-commerce platform and ensure launch schedules are met in collaboration with the marketing team.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely product delivery and address any production-related issues affecting customer service.

• Work closely with customer service teams to resolve product-related issues and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any production-related challenges using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrate keen attention to detail by identifying and correcting errors early in the production process.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in product development or manufacturing, ideally within the consumer goods or video game merchandise industry.
• Strong understanding of retail sales, e-commerce, and licensed product manufacturing.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox, Shopify, Fishbowl, and Licensor Mediabox.
• Basic knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, and global supply chain processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of video games, pop culture, and licensed merchandise is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in a production management or similar role within product development or manufacturing.
• Experience in e-commerce and retail operations is highly preferred.
• Experience working with global vendors and manufacturers in a production environment.
