About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to provide strategic leadership and management of all information security functions. The CISO will be the lead authority on security matters, working closely with executive leadership, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards. This role is accountable for the security group's budget and staff and is responsible for incident response, security compliance, and the operation of the security operations center. The successful candidate will also be involved in security training, technical consultation, and educational outreach to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company's information resources. Candidates for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master's degree, and professional certifications such as CISSP or CISA. The role requires advanced knowledge of security and privacy best practices, vulnerability management, and enterprise security tools. Experience in personnel, project, and budget management is essential, as is a background in IT operating environments and security management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in a higher education IT environment, and the ability to lead a team of technical staff. Strong communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive information, and experience in incident management are also key attributes for the role.
