About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Safety and Security Officer (CSSO) to join its executive leadership team. The CSSO will be responsible for advising on strategic safety, security, and emergency management issues, as well as reviewing and analyzing policies and practices to ensure the highest standards of safety and security. This role requires a candidate with extensive experience in the development and management of safety and security programs, particularly within a large, modern public transportation system. The CSSO will be tasked with establishing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and the public, and must be adept at managing relationships with various stakeholders, including government entities, union representatives, and the community. The ideal candidate for the CSSO position at the company will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 6 years of experience in safety and security management. The candidate should be well-versed in industry standards, and best practices, and have a strong understanding of local, state, and federal safety and security regulations. Experience in emergency management, risk assessment, and the ability to lead and implement safety and security programs is essential. The CSSO must also be proficient in data analysis, have a background in industrial hygiene, and be familiar with safety management systems. The role demands a leader who can work effectively in a government environment, is committed to total transparency, and can proactively address safety and security concerns within the transportation system.
