Kelly Science is seeking a Chief Scientific Officer for a growing company located in Boston, MA to drive innovation in bioengineering, NAMs and mini heart technologies.
Summary:
The CSO will lead the internal R&D pipeline, craft scientific strategy, and ensure the company remains a global leader in advancing cardiac disease modeling and mini heart technology validations. This executive role offers the rare opportunity to shape the future of cardiac research and make a lasting impact on healthcare innovation.
Define and lead the company's long-term scientific vision and strategic direction.
Develop and execute strategies for the company's mini heart technology, focusing on cardiac diseases and toxicity testing.
Oversee all scientific research activities, ensuring rigor, compliance, and excellence in laboratory operations.
Lead, mentor, and recruit multidisciplinary scientific teams to foster innovation and collaboration.
Drive intellectual property creation, patent filings, and IP protection strategies.
Represent the company externally through publications, conference presentations, and engagement with advisory boards.
Translate laboratory discoveries into marketable products and services for clients, including pharmaceutical partners.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internally and externally) to ensure successful commercialization of scientific products and technologies, aligning scientific objectives with market needs.
Ph.D. in Bioengineering or related life sciences discipline.
Extensive post-doctoral and industry experience, ideally in bioengineering, NAM, or organ-on-a-chip technologies.
Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring scientific teams.
Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
Proven record of scientific publication, innovation, and industry impact.
