Avant Tech is looking for a talented Computer Science Patent Associate Attorney to join our thriving technology law practice. The successful candidate will provide sophisticated legal counsel to clients in the software, hardware, and data science sectors, focusing on patent prosecution and intellectual property strategy. This role will involve working with leading tech companies to protect innovations and navigate complex patent issues.

• Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications in the area of computer science and related technologies.
• Conduct patentability assessments and provide strategic advice to clients regarding patent rights.
• Assist clients with IP litigation and enforcement matters as needed.
• Collaborate with inventors to collect and analyze technical information for patent applications.
• Stay current with developments in patent law and technology trends to provide informed counsel.
• Participate in client meetings, provide training on IP issues, and represent clients in front of the USPTO.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Must be a member in good standing of a state bar.
• Experience in patent prosecution of computer science-related technologies, preferably with 3-6 years in a big law firm or corporate environment.
• Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• Strong understanding of patent law, including the America Invents Act (AIA) and related regulations.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management skills, with an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
