Position Summary
We’re hiring a versatile Blade Butler to help with daily operations in our shop. This role combines administrative work, customer service, and hands-on support. You’ll be answering phones, making outbound customer service calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with orders, washing and preparing knives, managing shipping for our mail-in program, and helping the team where needed. Over time, you’ll also have the chance to learn the craft of sharpening and work alongside our skilled sharpeners.

This isn’t just a back-office role. It’s a customer-facing position where personality matters. We need someone who is outgoing, service-minded, and motivated to take initiative without waiting for direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and by email
• Make outbound customer service calls to confirm details, follow up with customers, and ensure satisfaction
• Schedule appointments and manage the calendar to keep service running smoothly
• Handle administrative tasks that support daily shop operations
• Wash, prep, and package knives for sharpening and shipping
• Manage mail-in sharpening orders and ensure they are shipped and returned on time
• Support sharpeners in the shop and assist with inventory
• Learn sharpening techniques over time with the opportunity to grow into a sharpening role

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Highly organized with good scheduling and time-management skills
• Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter willing to roll up your sleeves to help wherever needed
• A background in customer service, hospitality, or a related field is a plus
• Spanish-speaking is a bonus

Training
You’ll receive training to understand our processes, customer expectations, and service standards. Sharpening training will also be available if you’re interested in learning the craft.
