Title: Data Center Technician Location: 1905 Lunt, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 US (Onsite) Duration: 06+ Contract Pay Range $25.00 to $28.50/hr. Schedule: Full-time, 40 hrs/week (Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 12 AM) We are looking for a “Data Center Technician” to join one of our Fortune 500 clients. Job Summary The Data Center Technician will be responsible for performing rack and stack operations on servers and network assets within a fast-paced data center environment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Preferred Skills: Outside accreditations related to data center operations or IT. Customer service experience. Experience using a Fluke cable tester. Key Responsibilities: Perform rack and stack operations for servers and network assets. Install and test fiber and copper cabling, ensuring proper termination of copper connections. Reboot devices and demonstrate a general familiarity with server operations. Utilize a Fluke cable tester to verify the integrity of cabling installations (experience preferred). Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor to install equipment. Install servers weighing up to 40-50 lbs using a server lift and in team settings. Participate in troubleshooting calls and communicate effectively with clients. Maintain a high level of productivity in a busy data center environment. Experience & Education Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in a data center environment. Candidates with extensive team leadership experience will not be a fit as this role requires hands-on contributions. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Teams. Strong teachability and a positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Adaptable to changing priorities and tasks. Excellent attention to detail.
