WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Enterprise Analytics Division within Ascend Learning is seeking a motivated, energetic Data Engineering Intern with background in data engineering and good communication skills. This role will work alongside a team of experienced data engineers and data architects on real, business-driven priorities. The data engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to building ETL pipelines and highly scalable data warehouses for enterprise level analytics.

This position will work hybrid from our Leawood, KS office.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

Work with the engineers, quality engineering, DBAs, product and project management teams to understand new business initiatives related to data and analytics Develop ETL pipelines to ingest data into data warehouses or to other systems Work on data platforms like Snowflake, SQL Server and MYSQL to create queries, view and stored procedures for reporting Document and maintain requirements, data and technical components for future reference WHAT YOU'LL NEED Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or related field. Knowledge of modern enterprise data architectures, distributed data systems, design patterns, and data toolsets and the ability to apply them. Proficient in SQL Experience with Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) tools is a plus.
