Miami University’s College of Creative Arts is seeking a visionary and dynamic Director to lead the newly established Fashion Institute. The Director will oversee the development and growth of the institute, supporting the university’s fashion degree programs, the student-led Miami University Fashion & Design (MUF&D) club, one of the largest student-run fashion shows, and the university’s fashion magazine, UP.

Miami University’s College of Creative Arts is seeking a visionary and dynamic Director to lead the newly established Fashion Institute. The Director will oversee the development and growth of the institute, supporting the university’s fashion degree programs, the student-led Miami University Fashion & Design (MUF&D) club, one of the largest student-run fashion shows, and the university’s fashion magazine, UP.

The Fashion Institute Director will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:


  • Establishing and guiding an interdisciplinary approach to fashion education, integrating diverse creative and academic perspectives.

  • Building and maintaining strong external relationships with industry professionals, organizations, and alumni to support student learning, internships, and career opportunities.

  • Supporting and promoting research initiatives that address emerging challenges and trends within the fashion industry.

  • Facilitating collaborative projects that enhance the educational experience and visibility of Miami University's fashion programs.

This institute will reside within the College of Creative Arts and the director will report directly to the Dean. The CCA houses diverse programs in both the traditional and emerging arts and prioritizes strong professional preparation for students’ future creative careers. Curricular integration with business, technology, health, and other Miami partners helps to position our students at the forefront of their fields and as in demand by employers in today’s creative and artistic fields.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree with at least five years of experience in the fashion industry.

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience as an innovative leader, passion about cultivating the next generation of fashion professionals and advancing research that contributes to the future of the industry; and/or holding a master's degree in a related field.
