Environmental Licensing Specialist Job Locations US-GA-Kennesaw | US-IL-Naperville | US-TX-Plano | US-KS-Overland Park | US-OK-Oklahoma City ID 2024-2907 Category Environmental Position Type Full-Time Overview Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking an Environmental Licensing Specialist in either our Kennesaw, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Naperville, IL; Overland Park, KS; or Dallas, TX office location. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. Responsibilities Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resources Prepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments Support environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences Ability to travel/work in the field 10% of the time. Typical travel duration will be 3-4 days. Office work is typically 90% of the time for this position. Fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related field Working knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.) Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviews Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications / Skills Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field Experience with environmental impact assessments and environmental report preparation An understanding of nuclear facility operations and potential environmental impacts Previous experience permitting utility projects (nuclear, hydropower, renewable and/or oil & gas) Experience working with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Professional registration (e.g., PE, PG, PMP, etc.) preferred
