Job Description

Duration: 6+ months with possible extension or long hire

File Clerk Responsibilities:

· Min one year experience is required.

· Organizes and files applications and documents.

· Creates new folders to be filed. Secures and protects the privacy of documents.

· Discards documents when required in accordance with official procedures.

· Checks and corrects documentation and placement of previously filed documents.

· Retrieves files as requested.

· Required to stand, bend and climb a ladder for extended periods of time. Uses alphabetical and numerical systems to organize paper documents.

· Shifting of folders as required to make space.

· Able to work independently as well as with a team.

File Clerk Qualifications/Skills:

· Strong organizational skills.

· Attention to detail.

· Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality and privacy.

· A dedication to preserving information and materials.

· Clear handwriting.

· Ability to read and understand a wide range of materials.

· Verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

· Research and critical thinking skills.

Education:

· At least high school diploma or G.E.D.
