Freight Forwarder Coordinator - Jacksonville, FL

Full-Time | On-Site | Permanent
$50,000 - $65,000 per year


We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established freight-forwarding company in Jacksonville, Florida , looking for a proactive Freight Forwarder Coordinator to manage and optimise import/export operations across modes (ocean, road, air). This is a hands-on role that supports bookings, documentation, carrier relations, and smooth shipment flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle export and import freight bookings and scheduling across multiple transport modes.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation: B/Ls, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
• Liaise with carriers, agents, customs brokers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments.
• Track, trace, and monitor freight status; resolve delays, discrepancies, or issues promptly.
• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, including customs, Incoterms, and carrier requirements.
• Assist with rate negotiations, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• Provide regular reporting and status updates to stakeholders (sales, operations, customers).

Requirements

• 1-3 years' experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding systems / TMS / ERP, and MS Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent is preferred, though not essential.
