What you'll do:

* Lead the team, including Asst. General Forepersons and Forepersons, ensuring successful production results and creating and a positive team environment.

* Work Oversight & Safety

* Plan and manage production, bid new work, understanding revenue targets

* Work together with utility foresters/inspectors to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits/inspections and address customers issues

* Visit work sites frequently. Review the Pre-Job Hazard Survey at each job site; inspect work in progress and ensure it conforms to standards; enforce on the job safety practices

* Takes lead role in safety to ensure the well-being of employees, customers and the public.

* Personnel Management

* Ensures that employees receive training to prepare for job assignments

* Appraises performance of employees to communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback as a means for improvement

* Identify and develop high potential employees for leadership succession

* Maintain records and documentation related to man-hours; equipment and tool use; material inventory and storage; accident/incident reports; property-related permission and permits; customer records; labor disputes; and other job-specific records

* Collaborate with the Corporate office for time keeping, billing, employee relations, contract support and recruiting

What you'll need:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Leadership experience in the utility line clearance industry at the Foreperson or Asst. General Foreperson position

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Knowledge of trees including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing, as applicable to working in close proximity to energized conductors.

* Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, line equipment, etc.

* Ability to perform physical labor such as lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.

* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

* Willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications as required, such as:

* Local, state and federal licenses

* First Aid and CPR cards

* Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests
