Position: Generator Technician
Location: Metro RF Services – New Jersey
Job Type: Full-Time
Company Overview:
Metro RF Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Generator Technician to join our team, ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and reliability of our generators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Setup: Install, set up, and commission new generators and related equipment.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve potential issues before failures occur.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide on-site support to address generator malfunctions or failures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers, addressing inquiries and concerns regarding generator operation and maintenance.
- Upgrades & Modifications: Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to enhance generator performance and efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A technical degree or certification in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in generator maintenance and repair, with specific experience in the routine service of Generac and Kohler 40/50 kWh natural gas and diesel generators.
- Certifications: Valid certifications for Generac and Kohler generators are required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gas-powered generators, as well as familiarity with electrical systems and components.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to efficiently identify and resolve generator issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required. Additional relevant industry certifications are a plus.

Compensation:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Expected Hours: 32–50 hours per week

- 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
