Position
We are currently seeking a Girls' Basketball Coach. The Coach leads all aspects of the Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School Girls' Basketball program to ensure the development of building student-athletes into confident, open-minded, effective leaders who are ready to live joyful lives of faith, scholarship and service. The Girls' Basketball Coach oversees all phases of team development while ensuring the implementation of the school’s mission and core values. Coach is responsible for establishing a successful operation of the program through the communication and delegation of responsibilities to students, school support staff, and parents. This is a seasonal position that begins October 2024 and is renewable annually at the discretion of the SJND Principal and Athletic Director.

Reporting Relationships
The Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director. The Coach is appointed, supervised, and evaluated by the Athletic Director in consultation with the Vice Principal and the Principal.
The Coach appoints, supervises, evaluates and dismisses assistant coaches in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Upholds and models a spiritual and moral code which is consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the core values of Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School.
Integrates the school’s mission and Catholic identity into the coaching-learning process of the Girls' Basketball program and regularly seeks information from school colleagues about student well-being in order to monitor the program’s social climate.
Serves as the overall leader of the Girls' Basketball program and communicates a clear vision reflecting current trends in coaching.
Ensures and monitors the implementation of current instructional coaching methods to maximize player and team development.
Facilitates regular coaching staff meetings and assists in creating a professional development plan for coaching staff in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Partnering with other school leaders in school-wide initiatives and growth opportunities.
Monitors the effectiveness and success of the Girls' Basketball programs through regular meetings with coaching staff and Athletic Director.
Regularly updates at the beginning of the season the Girls' Basketball program team agreements & expectations in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Plans and develops a master practice and game schedule for the Girls' Basketball program in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Ensures that the training / game venues and equipment are safe and free from unnecessary objects at the start of each session, and that the equipment is returned at the end of sessions to the store room or area as indicated by the athletic director.
Will go through a driving safety protocol and then drive players in the school vans to practices and games
Collects and inventories all equipment and school supplied uniforms at the end of the season.
Represents the school at league preseason and postseason meetings.
Completes an end-of-season evaluation form and returns it to the athletic director.
Attends athletic department events and meetings as required.
Participates in the annual review of the Girls' Basketball’ budget with the Athletic Director.
Reads through and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and bylaws from Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School, Bay Area Conference or West Alameda County Conference, North Coast Section, and California Interscholastic Federation
Performs other duties as reasonably assigned by the athletic director
Pay
$3,000 to $5,000 stipend depending on experience.
