Job Summary
The Safety Manager will oversee the safety program of Quandary Consultants while embodying Quandary’s safety culture. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance of all safety regulations by developing and implementing safety program(s). Provide daily support, training, and record-keeping for safety related tasks, in addition to managing safety audits for the company and client(s).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluating, managing and maintaining Quandary’s health and safety program(s)
- Serve as a primary point of contact and resource relating to the company’s health and safety program for the company and client
- Stay current with all regulatory requirements and make proper changes necessary for the program
- Manage onsite health and safety supplies and resources for employees
- Manage hazard communication to ensure proper storage of materials and equipment, including calibration gases, herbicide/pesticide materials, meters, radiation survey equipment, hand tools, vehicles and trailers, and sampling equipment
- Collaborate with management team to manage near miss and observation process
- Function as the main point of contact and perform incident investigations to completion
- Maintain safety records, including maintenance of client required systems
- Perform periodic audits initiated by the company, regulatory agencies, and clients.
- Maintain required OSHA logs
- Implement, maintain, and communicate an up-to-date emergency management plan(s)
- Evaluate safety procedures of field work to ensure compliance at varies client sites by accompanying employees, implement improvements when needed
- Conduct safety training for employees to ensure compliance with all company, agency, and client requirements
- Other duties as assigned

- Valid driver’s license and proven safe driving record
- Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or environmental field preferred
- High School diploma required
- 5+ years of occupational safety experience (general industry and/or construction)
- Valid safety certification(s) preferred (at least one)
- CSP/ASP, OHST, CSHM, CHST, CSM, CIH
- Certified to perform safety training, or desire to earn certification in:
- CPT/first-aid/AED
- OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour courses
- HAZWOPER 24-hour/40-hour training and /or 8-hour refresher
- Strong Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations in Environmental Consulting and/or Oil and Gas, or construction a plus
Working conditions/Physical Requirements - Occasional field work outdoors, which may include:
- Walking long distance, inclement weather, standing for extended periods of time
- Prolonged sitting
- Lifting heavy objects, include weight maximums (i.e., up to 50 lbs.)
Expected Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually, DOE.
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week minimum
Work Location: Denver, CO: Reliably commute to Denver office daily.
