Job Description

Summary: The Interior Design Consultant will engage with customers in a retail environment, build lasting relationships, and achieve sales goals. Additionally, they will create innovative interior design concepts, manage projects, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role involves client consultation, space planning, and producing 3D visualizations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Job Responsibilities: 1.   Sales and Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while helping them find the perfect items to meet their needs, tastes, and purchase options.  Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business. Join a supportive team that works together to achieve individual goals and company expectations. Partner with other team members to create engaging customer experiences. Consistently meet established sales goals. 2.  Client Consultation and Engagement: Meet and collaborate with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for their spaces. Provide expert advice on design possibilities and solutions.  Follow up with customers to maximize sales and ensure customer satisfaction. 3.  Design Development: ~ Create innovative and functional interior design concepts for commercial and residential spaces. 4.  Space Planning: ~ Develop detailed space plans that optimize the use of available space. 5.  Material and Finish Selection: ~ Recommend appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the client’s vision and project requirements. 6. 3D Visualization: ~ Produce high-quality 3D renderings and presentations to help clients visualize the proposed design concepts. 7.  Project Management: ~ Oversee the entire design process from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders. 8.  Compliance and Standards: ~ Ensure all designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines. 9.  Client Relationships: Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technological advancements to provide cutting-edge design solutions. Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles, trends, and products through company training and your own research of trends. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This position operates in a retail store environment and in clients’ homes  Requirements Physical Demands: The physical demands of the role include standing, walking, lifting and bending. Travel: This role will require travel to and from clients’ home as needed. Qualifications needed to perform this position: Certified interior designer preferred Previous sales experience in retail, preferably in the furniture or home furnishings industry, is preferred but not required Passion for furniture and interior design, with a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on delivering a positive and memorable shopping experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment Exceptional listening and problem-resolution skills Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with hours based on the needs of the business. Pay: Salary + Commission
