What You'll Do As a Linguistics Intern at Kognitos, you will play a key role in refining how our AI interprets, understands, and generates language. Your contributions will help improve the usability and accuracy of our NLP systems. Specifically, you will:
- Conduct research to enhance our language models, focusing on syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and build high-quality datasets for NLP training.
- Identify ambiguities or edge cases in user input and propose solutions for improved language interpretation.
- Test and fine-tune automated workflows to improve precision.
- Stay current with research trends in computational linguistics to integrate cutting-edge techniques.
What We're Looking For - Education:
- Pursuing or holding a PhD in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science , or a related field.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of syntax, semantics, and discourse analysis.
- Familiarity with NLP models and technologies (e.g., NER, dependency parsing, tokenization).
- Analytical thinker with attention to linguistic nuances.
- Experience with corpus analysis, annotation, or data-driven research.
- Basic programming skills (Python preferred, but not required).
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Bonus Points:
- Prior experience working with NLP tools or language datasets.
- Interest in real-world applications of language technologies in automation.
- Knowledge of AI frameworks and automation solutions.
