About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Business Development to lead its strategic expansion through state-level sales relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for account management, new business development, and collaboration with key education stakeholders, including state legislators and departments of education. This role requires a dynamic and strategic leader with exceptional relationship-building skills, the ability to influence state policy and legislation, and a proven track record in driving legislative change and securing state-level funding for education initiatives. The Managing Director will work closely with the company's lobbyist network, and community stakeholders, and cross-functionally with various teams to develop and execute strategic sales plans, align messaging with market needs, and ensure the seamless onboarding and implementation of solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education solutions sales, with a balance of sales and education acumen, and the ability to manage multiple state-level initiatives effectively. Key responsibilities include leveraging existing state-level relationships to influence state policy, driving expansion and renewal within current state partners, and cultivating new relationships to expand the company's reach. The role demands excellent communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to tailor solutions to meet state-specific needs and funding requirements. The candidate should be familiar with the political dynamics and decision-making processes of state departments of education and be adept at crafting compelling narratives to inspire collaboration and deliver impactful results.
