Job Description

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 650+ provider multispecialty group with an excellent opportunity for a Hospitalist to join its growing group in Boise, Idaho . Join 32 physicians and 12 APPs in managing a high acuity medical service at a 381-bed regional medical center.

  • Full-time, 152-night shifts/year
  • 7 on 7 off, 7:00pm-6:00am
  • No call
  • Hospitalists take part in teaching residents.

With a typical patient population of 40% adult and 60% geriatric, hospitalists see patients with CHF, pneumonia, COPD, pancreatitis, stroke, neurologic conditions, geriatric fractures as well as other general medical conditions. Rounding typically involves 14-18 patient encounters per day, and nocturnists typically have 6-8 admissions per night.

Saint Alphonsus is the regions principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary critical care services, so candidates must be committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach. It is also the regions only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center. Hospitalists are the primary admitting service for the vast majority of primary care providers in the Saint Alphonsus network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong internal medicine or family medicine background with Hospitalist training and a desire to develop a practice in support of a growing multi-specialty medical group.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program, family medicine residency with hospitalist training will also be considered.
  • Board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA.
  • Granting of privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC).
