We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our industrial ice cream manufacturing facility. This role is critical in optimizing production processes, ensuring machinery efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to enhance factory operations.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will lead production, process optimization, and machinery oversight to drive efficiency, minimize downtime, and maximize product quality. This position reports directly to the Head of Operations and requires hands-on experience in factory layouts, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our Miami-based industrial ice cream manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management 

• Oversee all production activities to ensure the achievement of production targets and deadlines.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Design and implement factory layouts to maximize space utilization and streamline production flow.
• Monitor raw material and finished product inventory in collaboration with supply chain and logistics teams.

Machinery and Equipment Oversight 

• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Lead a maintenance team of two (Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician).
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement upgrades and improvements for industrial machinery.
• Evaluate production line performance and recommend technological enhancements as needed.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement 

• Develop and execute efficiency programs, including time studies and bottleneck analysis.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to drive cost savings and quality improvements.
• Identify areas for operational enhancements and implement strategies for process efficiency.

KPI Management & Reporting 

• Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.
• Prepare detailed reports on productivity, efficiency, cost management, and waste reduction.
• Present insights on factory layout improvements and optimization programs to senior leadership.

Team Leadership & Safety Compliance 

• Lead, train, and motivate the production team to enhance engagement and productivity.
• Foster a safe and compliant work environment by ensuring adherence to industrial safety policies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or frozen product production.

Technical Skills

• Proven expertise in factory layout design and production process optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP quality management systems.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and factory optimization tools.
• Strong analytical skills for KPI tracking and operational performance assessment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience).
• Commission structure and PTO.
