Job Description

Oliff PLC, a leading intellectual property law firm based in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Patent Attorney/Agent with a background in electrical engineering. This is an entry-level opportunity (0–3 years) ideal for a recent graduate or early-career attorney looking to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Analyze Office Actions and prepare strategies for response.
• Ensure accurate billing, file maintenance, and docket management.
• Work closely with other attorneys and technical staff on a variety of matters in the electrical and electronics fields.

Requirements :

• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
• Experience or interest in semiconductors, power systems, wireless technology, and signal processing is preferred, but not required.
• Prior patent prep/pros experience is a plus.
