Security Engineer, Otter

Who we are

Otter offers a wide range of software and hardware solutions for restaurants. Some examples include unifying all orders across platforms (Uber Eats, Doordash etc), QR code ordering, POS, Kiosk, printers etc. The wide range of products brings an interesting set of complexity in terms of discovery and risks to reduce.

What are we looking for:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Software, Computer Systems or Networks Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of domain experience in the specified role.
• Individual Contribution: A track record of significant contributions in previous roles, showcasing your ability to make a meaningful impact.
• Strong ability to design and create long-lasting architecture from scratch and evolve existing systems.
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate with non engineering stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

• Work thoughtfully on highly impactful, cross-team security projects ranging from direct customer-facing work to scalable underlying infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Tier 1 identity and authorization services and infrastructure that scale to millions of users and hundreds of thousands of requests per second, providing the backbone services that power many internal and external systems at CSS.
• Maintain security observability systems for alerting and monitoring new and ongoing security events daily.
