Moxy St Petersburg has arrived!!! We are looking for experienced, dynamic people to join the opening crew for the Sparrow rooftop lounge of the Moxy St Petersburg Downtown. Sparrow is an upscale intimate urban rooftop designed with adventure in mind. Moxy is a chic, modern, and edgy brand, so we need a like-minded crew for the Sparrow Rooftop Lounge opening in Dec 2024. We are looking for a Barback/Food Runner who is sophisticated, and fun with experience in upscale settings.

Job Summary

The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.

Provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while supporting the Bartenders and bar staff in the effective and efficient operation of the facility. To show our guests a memorable experience so that they will want to return.

The ideal candidate is friendly, optimistic, detail-oriented, has an outgoing personality, enjoys working with people and working on a team; has a proven passion and ability to anticipate and exceed our guests' needs; has knowledge of food and beverage operations; can comprehend and deliver service standards; excels at guest and team member relations and etiquette; and comprehends to importance of complying with applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. Has at least 1 year experience as a banquet server, server in an upscale restaurant, or full-service hotel.

• Restock liquor, mixers, and garnishes behind the bar
• Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty cups and trash from bartop and tables
• Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar (i.e. wipe down surfaces, push chairs and stools in, arrange drink menus and salt and pepper shakers, etc.)
• Perform frequent restroom checks for quality control
• Clean restrooms thoroughly at the end of each shift
• Perform clean-ups of spills or other customer accidents as needed
• Ensure bartenders are equipped with clean rags at bartending stations at all times
• Clean cups and dishes in back of house; adhere to dish-washing procedures
• Ensure bartenders are equipped with clean glasses in front of house at all times
• Check and re-stock ice bins
• Assist bartenders with back of house liquor inventory
• Follow all opening, closing, and key-holding procedures during each shift
• Ensure customer satisfaction by smiling and answering any questions our customers may ask
• Assist in bringing out food and drinks for guest

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in bar backing or bussing preferred
• Ability to perform well under pressure
• Detail-oriented, organized, cleanly
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Must have a flexible schedule (may be required to work late shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed)

• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum two years of craft cocktail experience.
• Experience in leading a team and executing a beverage program.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds without assistance; push/pull cart and other equipment up to 250 pounds; endure various physical movements throughout crowded work and event areas.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods of time; constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise move objects; extended periods of standing, reaching above head to move items, walking, stooping, and lifting. Requires close vision with or without corrective lenses. Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment.
