GENERAL FUNCTION: To provide a positive and safe environment for all in providing remarkable member experiences in the areas of Youth Sports.


MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age 18
• Prefer experience in playing, coaching and/or officiating any of the following sports: basketball, football, baseball, volleyball and/or soccer
• Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
• Maintain current CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration or acquire within 60 days of hire

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to regularly stand; walk; run; reach; talk or hear
• Must be able to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Must be able to occasionally sit, lift and/or move 50 pounds
• Maintain a positive customer service attitude
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Possess a basic knowledge of organized team sport and understand the philosophy of YMCA youth sports.
2. Attend pre-season meeting for supervisors and clinic for officials in order to understand league rules and the proper mechanics to be able to officiate if necessary.
3. Supervise officials, coaches and fans and provide feedback to them as well as the director. Evaluate coaches and their philosophy, communication, and coaching ability.
4. Set up and tear down all equipment for practice and games.
5. Ensure all games start and end on time.
6. Report any facility or equipment irregularities, unsafe conditions or feedback to supervisor in writing.
7. Follow and enforce all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
8. Report all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form as required and provide to supervisor within 24 hours.
9. Maintain prompt hours and follow established procedures for absences.
10. Ensure the mission, core values and sportsmanship standards of the Wichita YMCA are upheld at all times.
11. Make decisions relevant to game situation. Direct parents to proper field/court.
12. Must be available for the first week of games. During season if substitute supervisor is needed, please give advance notice.
13. Promote the Strong Community Campaign.
14. All other duties as assigned.

EFFECT ON END RESULT: Compliance with Sports Site Supervisor job responsibilities will provide a positive and safe environment for all program participants and observers.
