First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson is seeking a dedicated, part-time Bookkeeper to join us in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our institution.

As our part-time Bookkeeper, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly, allowing us to focus on our mission of service and compassion.

What we offer

• Competitive pay: $20-$25/hr
• Flexible schedule: Work twice a month, 3-6 hours each time

What you’ll do

• Issue checks for various church expenses, including payroll for 4 people through QuickBooks
• Pay bills and process expense vouchers
• Reconcile check book balance monthly to ensure accuracy
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L statement

What You Bring

• Prior bookkeeping experience preferred, including familiarity with QuickBooks
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial matters
