Ordnance Facilities Electrical Engineer
The Opportunity:

As an Ordnance Facilities Electrical Inspector, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to providing research and technical support to senior-level DoD representatives responsible for ordnance electrical safety of naval weapon s and ordnance facilities and platforms in Lightning Protection, Facility Grounding and B ond ing, Equipment Grounding and B ond ing, Electrical Service, Ordnance and Energetic Grounding and B ond ing, Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance ( HERO ) , and Electrostatic Discharge ( ESD ) . We're looking for a facilities inspector who can use their skills to identify, develop, and implement recommendations and solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes regarding prevention of unintended electrical power to the ordnance resulting in inadvertent initiation or detonation, and Ordnance Electrical Safety. You'll leverage your expertise in NAVSEA ashore and afloat requirements to ensure the electrical safety of ordnance and energetics operations in Navy facilities as they pertain to Lightning Protection, Ordnance Electrical Safety interactions, and electromagnetic and static influences.

At Booz Allen, you'll use your skills to provide technical direction on Lightning, Grounding, and B ond ing ( LG & B ) and ordnance electrical safety involving naval weapon s and ordnance. You will establish and implement ordnance electrical safety criteria and standards. That's why we need a facilities inspector like you to provide direction, guidance, or recommendations during the technical input preparation of various technical documents such as Ordnance Pamphlets ( OPs ) , Military Standards ( MIL STDs ) , NATO Standardization Agreements ( STANAGs ) , Allied Publications such as AOPs, AASTPs, and AECTPs, and commer cia l standards and specifications.

You Have:
    \n
  • 3+ years of experience working with weapon s systems electrical engineering or facilities construction and electrical engineering
  • \n
  • Experience working with electrical engineering or facilities construction inspections or reviews
  • \n
  • Experience with weapon s systems inspections, reviews, and grounding implementation to mitigate electrical vulnerabilities or HERO / ESD
  • \n
  • Knowledge of OPs, MIL STDs, NATO STANAGs, or Allied Publications, including AOPs, AASTPs, or AECTPs, or commer cia l standards and specifications for ordnance electrical safety
  • \n
  • Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations
  • \n
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
  • \n
  • Secret clearance
  • \n
  • Bachelor's degree in EE
  • \n

  • Experience with NAVSEA OP-5 and OP-4

  • Experience with LG & B and ordnance electrical safety involving naval weapon s and ordnance

  • Experience with Naval Facility ( NAVFAC ) siting requirements and building code requirements

  • Experience as an Explosives Safety Officer ( ESO )

  • Experience reviewing and approving Master Plans developed by NAVFAC Engineering for shore activities' military construction programs with respect to ordnance electrical safety, including grounding and b ond ing, and LG & B issues
  • \n
  • Experience in Electromagnetics ( EM ) , Electronics Systems Design and Development, Manufacturing, Test and Evaluation, and In-Service Engineering
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Ordnance Electrical Safety requirements
  • \n
  • Knowledge of ashore reprogramming and proximity testing requirements of ordnance
  • \n
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • \n
  • Master's degree in EE

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
