Join us as a Patient Advocate Attorney at Jewish Family Service of San Diego. This full‑time position is based in San Diego and supports the Patient Advocacy and Housing Services team. Pay and Benefits Base salary: $90,000 – $94,500 per year. Total compensation includes comprehensive healthcare, life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, 15 paid holidays, two wellness days, and additional employee benefits. Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day leadership and coordination of the Patient Advocacy Program. Conduct Roger S. advisement and represent publicly funded minor clients at Roger S. hearings. Review program calendar and manage case files, including grievance investigations and due‑process hearings. Present in‑service training for clients, staff members, and the behavioral health community. Perform legal research, build relationships with community partners, and maintain awareness of current resources and regulations. Maintain records, attend community meetings, and represent the program in community events. Collaborate with the Senior Director and Director to support program objectives. Qualifications Licensed attorney in California. Valid California driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. Successful completion of a criminal history background check. Experience and commitment to working with underrepresented communities, including individuals with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, LGBTQ+ individuals, and the unhoused. Knowledge of patients’ rights law and willingness to learn California State laws, San Diego County policies, and procedures. Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with community partners. Adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality. Ability to represent the program and address political and community concerns. Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle paperwork, lifting up to 25 lbs.
