Job Description

Our client, a leader in the Agriculture Research and Development sector, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join their team for their warehouse operation. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be part of the Environmental Health and Safety department supporting a culture of safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent technical writing skills, and great interpersonal skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Safety Coordinator - 1st and 2nd Shift - rotate with the season

Hours: 1st shift May-Nov 7am-3:30pm and 2nd Shift Nov-May 3pm - 11:30pm 

Location: Grimes, IA

Pay Range: $30-$31 per hour

What's the Job?

• Conduct onboarding and safety training for new employees.
• Perform safety line walks and provide coaching to workers on safe work practices.
• Write operating procedures and perform hazard assessments.
• Issue permits for non-routine tasks and conduct safety audits.
• Lead safety committee meetings and maintain safety records.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
• OSHA 10 certification is required.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong communication skills.
