CDL-A Trainee – Eastern Regional

Start at 55¢ CPM right out of trucking school

Location: Live within ~200 miles of Harrisburg, PA
Fleet: Eastern Regional • Dry Van • OTR-DRY
Home Time: About every 2 weeks
Shifts: Day or night; weekends/holidays as needed

Why this lane

• 55¢ CPM to start for recent CDL-A grads (0–11 months).
• Mileage target: ~2,000–2,500 miles/week.
• Average weekly earnings: $1,200–$1,400 once solo.
• Annual raises: +1¢ CPM for each full year of experience (up to 65¢ CPM max).
• Stop pay: $15/stop (where applicable).
• Freight: Mix of live load/unload, preloads, and drop & hook.
• Coverage: Runs up and down the Eastern Seaboard ; loads don’t go far west.

Training & Upgrade

• Start with a professional mentor ride-along phase.
• Upgrade to solo at $0.55 CPM (trainee to first-seat path).
• Performance bonus plan available after upgrade.

Requirements

• CDL-A (recent trucking-school graduate or ≤11 months experience welcome)
• No endorsements required
• Willing to run days or nights, weekends/holidays as dispatched
• Live within commuting distance of Harrisburg, PA (~200 miles)

The real talk

• Northeast/East Coast traffic is part of the job.
• You’ll work some weekends/holidays when freight demands it.
• Expect a mix of live loads and drop & hook; stay on schedule and communicate with dispatch.
